Our Team

Ames Gross – President and Founder Mr. Gross founded Pacific Bridge Medical in 1988 and has helped hundreds of medical companies with business development and regulatory issues in Asia. He is recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in the Asian medical markets. In 2008, Medical Device and Diagnostic Industry (MD&DI) magazine named Mr. Gross one of the top 100 executives in the medical business.Mr. Gross is a frequent contributor of articles on Asian medical issues for Clinica (England), MD&DI (Los Angeles), and other medically oriented journals. He has been a featured speaker on the Asian medical markets at the Medical Design and Manufacturing (MD&M) shows, the Medtrade Home Health Care Exhibition, the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society’s annual and regional meetings, and a variety of other medically oriented meetings and conferences.Mr. Gross has a BA degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia University.

Mary Li – General Manager (Shanghai) Ms. Li works on consulting projects in China. Prior to joining Pacific Bridge Medical, Ms. Li worked in a number of senior positions at Johnson & Johnson and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals for over 18 years. Ms. Li attended Tongji University (BS) and Jiaotong University (MBA), both in Shanghai. Ms. Li speaks Mandarin Chinese.

Fusayo Kobu – General Manager (Tokyo) Ms. Kobu is a pharmacist and works on regulatory affairs and consulting projects in Japan. She has extensive experience working at pharmaceutical, diagnostic and medical device companies. Ms. Kobu speaks Japanese.

Cheng Wang – Senior Vice President Dr. Wang has over 20 years of experiences in medical device industry including management, R&D, business development, sourcing, supply chain management, quality system and regulatory affairs, M&A, manufacturing and international collaboration. Dr. Wang has been on the board of directors of several Chinese medical device companies including Wilson Instruments, KangJi Medical, MSB Medical and Surgitools Medical. Dr. Wang graduated from Peking University, Beijing, China in 1986 with a major in physics (optics). He received his Ph.D. in physics (optics) from University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama in 1992. Dr. Wang speaks Mandarin Chinese.

Kaori Yamaguchi – Senior Vice President Ms. Yamaguchi works on consulting projects for Japan. She has worked at Pacific Bridge Medical for over 15 years. Ms. Yamaguchi graduated with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota. Ms. Yamaguchi speaks Japanese.

Yasuhiro Ayabe – Director QA/RA (Tokyo) Mr. Ayabe is in charge of QA/RA. He works on regulatory and consulting projects in Japan. He has extensive experience working on MedTech regulatory and business projects in Japan.  He speaks Japanese.

Tran Doan – Director Ms. Doan manages marketing activities and leads Asian market research, regulatory, and consulting projects. She graduated with a B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, in Mathematics and Economics from Franklin and Marshall College. Ms. Doan speaks Vietnamese.
