As the use of artificial intelligence (AI) takes hold in Asia’s healthcare industry, researchers are collecting detailed health profiles of citizens and using the data to test treatments, monitor adverse drug reactions in patients, detect the risk of cognitive issues in children and adults, and explore how genomic data can predict health problems. The AI boom means data-aggregation platforms are increasingly being used to research diseases including diabetes and kidney disease. Wearable devices are also collecting data on heart rate and body temperature of large numbers of Asian patients.
