Significant changes expected to China government drug reimbursements

China is expected to update its list of medicines covered by government medical insurance plans in June, dropping some drugs with low clinical value for innovative treatments that are urgently needed.

Authorities are also likely to adjust the prices it pays manufacturers for drugs currently on the National Medical Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL). The NRDL, first created in 2000, has been updated three times since, most recently in 2017.
