Salaries Continue to Rise in Asia, Especially in the Medical Area in China

Mercer, the large human resources consulting firm, predicts solid employment and wage growth throughout the Asian region in 2018 to 2019. One of the strongest areas for growth will be in the life sciences industry in China. Since there has been a dramatic increase in the number of medical regulations in China, and not many places to get a formal education in regulatory affairs, there is a severe shortage of regulatory affairs and quality assurance executives there. Heads of RA/QA at foreign device and drug companies that speak English can easily make $200,000 per year or more.  Even mid-level executives in these areas with some English skills can now make between $75,000 to $100,000 in China.
