The diagnosis of health problems has been revolutionized by the development of medical imaging technology. China’s medical imaging market is growing rapidly, with an annual growth rate of 30%.
China hopes to manufacture more medical imaging equipment domestically in order to meet the growing needs of Chinese patients. Further, the country aims to produce more high-end products over the current mid- to low-end products manufactured domestically. Further growth and development in China’s medical imaging industry will help to solve the country’s problem with data management, poor diagnosis rates and long wait times. This trend, however, does not bode well for top-end imaging equipment from western device companies that produce top-end imaging equipment.
