Medical Device Advisory Council to Oversee Permits for Sales of Medical Devices in Vietnam

With Vietnam on the cusp of implementing significant new regulations on medical devices, an advisory group made up of former health officials has been formed to ensure the transition goes off without any hitches.

The Advisory Council established in November by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health will oversee the implementation of registration requirements on medical devices deemed high risk. The establishment of the Council—along with the expanded medical device rules it will oversee — is designed to further limit risks to consumers of the rapidly expanding medical device industry in Vietnam. New device regulations are scheduled for January 1, 2022.
