Medical Product Registration in Vietnam

Vietnam's medical regulatory system is evolving. Product registration requirements are not extremely high; foreign registrations will often expedite approval. Still, failing to deal properly with Vietnamese regulators can delay approval.

Vietnam's medical product regulators are the Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV), the pharmaceutical regulator, and the Department of Medical Equipment and Health Works (DMEHW), the medical device regulator. All pharmaceuticals require both product approval and a separate import permit from the DAV. Only selected medical devices require approval for marketing.
