Chinese regulators have mandated that all drug wholesalers conduct an internal investigation into storage and transportation practices. Wholesalers that discover violations were ordered to report their findings to the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) by May 31, 2016. This campaign is just the first step in a series of measures designed to regulate the country’s drug storage and distribution network. The campaign began after an investigation found that an illegal network of suppliers and distributors were selling improperly stored vaccines throughout the country, prompting outrage among Chinese citizens.
